As an artist, I really wish it were more accepted. It's true that P.M.'s get to wear wonderfully decorated aprons. But it seems, historically (at least according to pictures I've seen and stories I have read) that it wasn't always so. I even askef our W.M. a few years ago about this and he said...
We need to remember Internet Rule #4080, "Do Not Feed the Internet Trolls." Wasted breath, Widows Son. All your very good points are informed because of your belonging to Freemasonry. Our desire for universal tolerance among all peoples rubs against the agenda of others who would prefer a more...
"Indeed, I am not, have never been, nor have I ever sought to be".
Then, you sir, have an unhealthy fascination to immerse yourself in a group of which you want no part. Use your time more wisely, you won't get converts here to whatever your agenda is. And, no, I will not hold you to the same...
You are correct, we only work in lower degrees for certain things. Master Masons are the only one's allowed in a Stated meeting. That bugged me a bit when I was an EA and FC, but now I understand perfectly.
So, this Skip isn't even a Freemason? He does seem to speak with some self-imposed authority. Now I will have to read his responses differently. Do you know this for certain?
In So Cal, apparently up till now, you were not a Member of the Lodge until your 3rd Degree was conferred. So, you didn't have to pay dues until you were a member. Maybe some thought their monies for the EA and FC were dues, but they aren't.
That's not good news. I am in Southern California and we have quite a few EA and FC on our books that will be in for a surprise. I guess it could be seen as encouraging the lazier oned to get busy, why not pay if you plan on being a MM, anyway? They should have at least made it only applicable...
This is very interesting. Grown men can agree to disagree. But it does go a long way towards showing how something with quite pagan beginnings has been almost entirely co-opted by Christianity. I don't know for sure, but it seems the two of you have laid out your arguments well , according to...
I knew it was a slip, trust me. But it made me grin this morning, thanks for that. I was thinking,"damn, Texas lodges are really taking this 'progressive' thing too far. ;)
Bro Bill, that was s thorough answer, many thanks. I'm saving to purchase mine here in Southern California. It seems a smart play and does seem to help the Lodge out, I also contribute in any other ways that I can throughout the year, many Blue Lodges are hurting financially still. I DID get a...
Pot-stirring, indeed. Dude, we get it - you either do not like and/or do not trust Muslims. Maybe there should be a thread titled "Reasons why My Religion/or God is better than yours". Again, you have BROTHERS who are devout Muslims and it doesn't interfere with their sincerity to the Craft...
