Suit & Tie/Tuxedo or Casual/Plain Clothes
It seems to be much the same here in So Cal. Degree work i always wear a dark suit and practice or association meetings go in whatever I feel comfortable in, usually jeans and t-shirt, always clean shoes. I have seen some older brethren scoff at...
Brother rmcgehee, this sounds interesting for sure. If I had not been ill I would have been able to join my brothers from Upland/Mt. Baldy #419 when they visited your Lodge last week. I have heard only great things about you guys and hope to make the trip someday.
I may be lost here. You have a proficiency return in 3 parts? I know that some places allow a 'short form' return, which many (including myself) disagree with being an option. But 3 separate returns of the same work that most all of us had to do in one sitting? Please say this isn't so. That's...
I believe this has to be done on the home page, the phone app doesn't have the functionality. Just sign in w/ same log-in and pass on the website and you can edit your profile from there.
It's a shame that the movie was so awful. Even the guys who made it acknowledged all the really took from the brilliant comic book was the title. If you are a fan of great comics/graphic novels, do yourself a favor and read this one. Alan Moore's notes in the back of each issue are incredible...
That sounds like an incredible atmosphere for the MM degree. Well done, I wish I knew of something similar in Southern California. I do recall once hearing of a similar setting in Arizona, I believe. I like the idea of outdoor degrees. Certainly makes the Tyler's job more interesting, no?
Your profile states that you are a Master Mason, which Lodge is your home? There are many lodges that have study groups and you can also further your knowledge in the York and or Scottish Rites. Do you have an approximate idea of what you might be looking for?
I have seen some of the aprons that are being shown. Just some absolutely beautiful work. I've always meant to ask what my GL's stance is on decorated aprons. I'd love to make my own, but all I've seen in Lodge personally are Past Master's aprons decorated more ornate than regular MM. Does Texas...
Wow. 'your ashlar is a little rough"? You've received great advice here, more than maybe some us had previous to joining ourselves. It's also important to understand that your '32 degree" friend has no more Masonic dignity than many of us lowly Master Masons, wallowing away at our 3rd. Please...
Go to a Lodge. Go a few times, make it a regular visit to a Stated Dinner to meet with the bretheren. If you like what you see and are eased in your heart and mind, then petition. You are either trying to talk yourself out of joining or trying to preach a message. But, please, let men be free in...
Every day, everywhere I go. I put off joining for too long and receiving my MM degree remains one of my proudest moments. There is only one proper way to wear it - with pride in yourself and honor to the Craft.
