    Morals and Dogma

I'm the same way. There's been a couple of times when people link long Masonic documents on these forums where, as soon as I open them, I either close them, or immediately get up and take a break, because I find it a real strain reading long documents digitally. For short spurts that I can skim...

    Excited

Well, in advance, congrats! Enjoy it and take it all in, it's only new to you once. :)

    Having many masters?

For some reason, I was under the impression that the Grand Lodge under whose jurisdiction you reside is the Grand Lodge jurisdiction which takes precedence, though when visiting an out of state lodge, you should respect and abide by their customs and law. I'm trying to find a factual reason to...

    Having many masters?

I think, technically, it would depend upon which jurisdiction you currently reside in. But I could be wrong.

    Google +

I'd love to know y'alls opinion on it. Personally, I'm not all that impressed. I can't see any feature on G+ that I just have to have.

    One black ball?

I think we're fine with the three black ball rule. One black ball is two easy to manipulate, a simple majority could cause discord in the lodge. We're at a happy medium right now, a compromise, where both extremes are unhappy with the current policy. That's usually a good place to be.

    Masonic Education

Reading books, websites, and talking to brothers about things the books or website don't clear up. So, a combination thereof. Not really sure what the ratio is, honestly.

A look at our national membership statistics

While I agree with your sentiment, I'm very hesitant about that one. While I was president of my college fraternity, we had three 'rush classes.' (For those unfamiliar, think York Rite Festival, but more involved and drawn out over an entire semester.) We learned the hard way that if someone...

    One Day Journey

We very much live in an instant gratification society, and I do think that's a contributing factor in this debate. There are many men who may otherwise be good men, but don't necessarily have the patience to take the time and do things 'right' as such. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of...

    What would you do?

Before you do anything else, pull him aside, talk to him in private, in a concerned, loving manner. Don't make him defensive, try to help, not harm. If you approach it in the right way, he'll probably be understanding and take it in the manner it is being offered.

    One Day Journey

This is important. The York Rite degrees that I remember best were the ones where I was the candidate. The ones I remember least are the ones where I sat on the sideline, watching another candidate go through. I'm not necessarily saying it should be changed, but its far, far more affecting for...

    Paper or Real

Voted other. We typically don't have meals before stated meetings. (Kind of wish we did.) We do have breakfast on a Saturday one a month, and always use paper/plasticware for that.

    New from Alaska.

A day lodge meets during daylight hours as opposed to the evening. Which I know probably gets a bit wonky in Alaska with their seasons changing the daylight hours so drastically. :p

Museum of African-American Freemasonry opened at Prince Hall Grand Masonic Temple

Re: Museum of African-American Freemasonry opened at Prince Hall Grand Masonic Templ Very neat!

    Lodge Libraries

Well, maybe libraries like we think of them now. But I have no doubt we'll always have libraries. The form may simply change. More computers, with access to larger databases, etc, etc.

Why is it so hard to get Masons to join the Commandery?

Regarding expenses, some of those can be mitigated. There's a sword you can buy on ebay that they sell for something like $40.00 that most sir knights use around here. Cheap. And I know many commanderies have their own chapeaus. I borrow from the commandery, as I can't afford my own just yet...

    Lodge Libraries

Personally, I like holding a real book in my hands. Books don't run out of battery life. They can't be deleted, corrupted, etc. If I drop a book, I don't have to stop reading it because it broke. I never have to plug my book in at night. My book couldn't possibly get a virus. Don't get me...
