Personal interests? I'm very active in my church. I enjoy farming, skydiving, hiking, snowmobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, etc. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Good catch. Mostly, I'm torn between Scottish Rite and York Rite. Perhaps someday I'll do both, but with my other activities I don't have the time and the dues for each are high.
JMHO...If I could only do one I would pick the York Rite as, to me, it seems more of an extension of the Blue Lodge than the Scottish Rite. This is only my personal preference. I'm sure that many others have just the opposite opinion.
I did both. And I recommend the experience wholeheartedly. Since you aren't limited to either/or I say try them both. If the dues are an issue, do one at a time. Some very beautiful degrees are found in both of them. Maybe you will like one over the other. Or maybe both! Or maybe you will decide you want to focus on Craft Masonry. Bit definitely have the experience.
