Traveling to New Mexico

Taking the family on road trip to New Mexico July 3-10th and will be staying in Ruidoso throughout most of the trip. It so happens that Ruidoso #73 meets on the 6th and I've already been given the thumbs up from the wife to attend. What should I expect? How should I be prepared? In Texas, a DL and Dues card is good enough, but is there anything else I should know about?
