I have been looking for a website to buy an apron i saw one time, but cant find it. Its a plain white cloth apron with adjustable straps and a metal hook and loop fastener. But i cannot find it any where. Im in Colorado and our aprons must be plain white. Any brothers know where i can find said apron? Thanks

Just trying to clarify the way you described the straps and fastener. Lol gotta forgive me cause what the Army calls Velcro is "hook and loop fastener". So, by reading what you described I pictured straps with metal velcro as the fastener. I highly doubt that is what you are looking for, but instead are looking for some sort of metal clip as the fastener. Sounds dumb, I know. But I figured I would try to make sure I know what you are looking for before I referred you to the wrong thing...lol

Leave it up to the Army to come up with a uniform that has a lot of noisy velcro on it and they can't even call it velcro cause they gotta be politically correct on everything to keep from getting sued...haha What is even worse, when I see velcro I don't even think that word any more. It is just hook and loop fastener to me...lol

I apologize, i tried to explain it the only way i knew how lol. I am in the army too, thats why i put metal to try to avoid people thinking velcro. And just for extra knowledge, the army ( i have no clue why the chose velcro...just why they called it what they did) could not call it Velcro, as Velcro is the name of the company that created it, like Xerox. So they deciced to call it hook and loop to avoid any legal issues, or they just didnt want to pay velcro to use the name. Any way, lol, the fastener i am looking for on one strap has like a metal ring and the other a hook or t-shape. Thanks

Hahah, yea that is exactly what I heard about the using of the Velcro name. To tell the truth, until I heard that when I was in the Army I had no clue that Velcro was the name of the company lol...I had never heard it called anything else so just assumed that was just the name of the material. Have always called it velcro...But yea, leave it up to the Army to worry about getting sued over some stupid crap like that..lol In my opinion, adding the velcro to the uniform was one of the dumbest decisions the Army came up with...lol Especially for the reasons that they stated for using it. But what do I know? I'm just a Scout...lol

As for your question, I just finally got to log on to the net a few minutes ago and I came right here, so I do apologize for not getting out there and looking for an apron for ya yet. But I do see that some other Brothers have posted some good and trusted sites to get one. Just curious, you said that in Colorado all of your aprons have to be all white. Does that include the aprons for the PMs?

As far as i have seen, it is strickly white apron. Heres an excerpt from the Officers handbook. " The officers and members of a lodge shall wear aprons of white leather, or white linen, or white cotton, or other suitable white material without any ornament whatever on apron or strings."

Heres what it says about PM apron. "A Past Master’s or District Lecturer’s apron may be worn as approved by the Grand Lodge and subject to the approval of the individual Lodges"
