Masonic Restoration Foundation Symposium August 23-26 California

[h=6]With so many Masonic Lodges going dark during the summer months, notwithstanding the social gatherings including barbeques and picnics and other such social groupings, it is essential that we neither allow our minds to cease searching for Light, nor that we put our Working Tools away for such an extraordinary amount of time, especially with the days being longer and therefore the Light of the Sun seemingly omnipresent.

Attending and participating in the Masonic Restoration Foundation (MRF) Symposium which will be held this August is an opportunity to work in a metaphorical quarry which has no peer.

This symposium will allow you to reap dividends that are unattainable anywhere else, as it will be the assembly of Brothers from around the country who are each sincerely seeking Light as well as generously sharing that which each have attained.

The title “Brother†will pervade the entire gathering, as its attendees understand that this title and the White Lambskin are the highest badges of Freemasons. Starting with a Masonic gathering where all are on the Level is but the first of numerous positive experiences are the several of the seemingly countless mosaic tiles that make up this masterpiece of Masonic symposiums.

Flights to Oakland are both filling up and rising in price, so I suggest you make your arrangements now.

Depending on who you talk to in the GLoTX, we can or cannot attend such an event, as MRF is not recognized by the Grand Lodge, it also isn't strictly forbidden. These type of vagaries seem to cause more problems than they solve.

Brother Vick,

I assure you its above board and safe for Texas Masons. A Texas Mason is the president of the board, the GM of New Hamshire, the GM of Washington DC, the Grand Secretary of California are all on the board, etc.

It is not a fringe event and we receive several Texas Masons every year to include some "higher ups" :) so please come and enjoy.

Sorry if I don't jump at it, but we also PGM that are members of the Philalethes Society. Including the man that banned it from Texas as an recognized organization. Just because higher ups can do it, doesn't mean peons can do it. Unfortantely it is a sad fact of the fraternity, especially in Texas. I asked to promote a previous MRF event and the DDGM scolded me regarding the event.

So yeah, I am putting the warning out, that is all.

Isn't St Albans lodge in College Station a lodge that follows the Traditional Observance? I'm believe they've had several DDGM visits without any problems.

they are TO like, not an official TO lodge. Also look at the members of that lodge, and it is easy to see why they have some room to maneuver in that regard.

The Masonic Restoration Foundation does not open or close like a lodge. It is similar to other conferences that are open to Masons. The MRF annual meeting is at the North American Conference of Grand Masters for instance...and is not "tyled" with any kind of ritual or such.

It is common for the lodge hosting the event to have a lodge meeting after hours for those who would like to attend a lodge meeting while in town.

The confusion on most part the general schedule has listed "Lodge meetings for Friday and Saturday start at 6:30 p.m. and are followed by dinner", meetings in open meetings, tiled? Looking at the schedule they are further confusing as they aren't listed.

Like I said, I know the event is by all standards available for Texas Masons, but because the GLoTX has never addressed membership in the organization it is left up to interpretation, and unfortunately can be interpreted negatively. I would hope that as president Bro Normand would address the issue at the next Grand Lodge session.

Irregular and Clandestine are words used too many times by men of our fraternity who don't understand an organization.
