Order of the Arrow

I didn't realize that the Order of the Arrow's 2 founders (E. Urner Goodman and Carroll A. Edson) were both 32° masons. As an old member of the Order, maybe this explains why Freemasonry appeals to me so much and why I see similarities between the two. Also I've seen a couple papers (mostly from crack-pot CTs, but I can see some of it) talking about numerous parallels between the two.
Speaking of, any other former Scouters on here?

I made it to the rank of Life and was working on my Eagle before becoming ineligible by reaching 18 yrs old.

I just made OA Brotherhood before my 18th b-day. And Phulseapple you only had to be first class to get voted on for OA. What did y'all do on your Ordeal. We cut brush and were alowed to say "watchout" and only that.

I made eagle just before my 18th birthday (CoA was after my bday) and OA Brotherhood. My troop stayed alive just long enough for me to be it's last eagle then disbanded afterwards. I never joined up with another troop so I never kept on til Vigil. I was a member of a post though working at the local summer camp so I guess I could've made it happen. Just no time with college and full time job.
Maybe if I have a son someday I'll go all the way to vigil.

I don't think there is such an organization up here. There are youth groups, but in the Masonic style as there is in America.
