The Other Half Of The Florida Masonic Scandal Tells All

I'd love to hear from the other side and what their explanations are. I have a hard time seeing that they can come up with anything even remotely acceptable, but I also have a belief in that most people generally do what they believe is the right thing. I'd just love to hear how this can be considered proper masonic conduct.

Quite bizarre don't you think?

Slurpee? Fraternal kicks? This is how a Grand Master describes freemasonry? Really?

I believe there are many times and situations where one man must make a decision. Where the buck stops here type of events and matters.
But not for this. Over the top indeed. Way over the top.

One more area where change should take place.

I don't know. The ideal would be if someone neutral had been around to verify some of the conversations. The author was himself clearly upset and if you give me 2 hours to write an article I could make Jesus Christ sound like the worst man to ever live; simply by only bringing up the heresy side as seen by the Priests who felt wronged. Having said that, I don't believe in the exclusion of ANY Freemason on basis of his Religion. If it drives a Man to become a Gentleman and Scholar, that's all that matters. I do question if he had no Holy Book, then what upon were the Square and Compasses placed during his Degrees. If it was the Christian text than technically his word would not be binding, but even that would be stretching it. It is a tragic shame that the GL of Florida is tossing out such un-Masonic edicts, but then again I don't live in Florida and have no idea what is going on there or the context in which it has occurred. For all of us that don't live there I think we should just watch and wait because the more we attack, the more they will defend and you will do nothing but give them more conviction in their views. Got to be gentle with this.

I'm glad you clarified, as I have a great friend and mentor, a Past Master of my Mother Lodge, who is a Buddhist, and who took his obligation on the same VSL as I. And yes, it was the Holy Bible.
I trust that the words he spoke are as binding as any other Freemason who held that book, regardless of what Supreme Being he believes in.

In this time of deliberation, I feel we all need to relive our EA lectures (if they are anything like NM's), particularly the part about Brotherly Love.
