    Us army

Careful, some people never escape there. My dad was 5th Group for 26 years, retired and moved all the way to Raeford. He finally got as far as Whispering Pines, says it feels like another world.

    Just moved to NM

Imagine visiting UGLE lodges, where there are more than fifty different rituals practiced! My own experience coming from NM to CA has been that the differences are subtle but striking. Which lodge did you go to?

    Favorite degree postion

I've always enjoyed being SW for EA degrees and tying a new Brother's apron on for the first time, then escorting him back to the altar.

    Costa Rica

Personal advertising is generally an American phenomena. Just because their cars aren't billboards, doesn't mean they aren't there.

    Traditional observance

There doesn't seem to be one in KY, though some lodges may be using "observant" philosophies. Even without the TO or EC tag, it's quite easy to adopt ideals. Brother Hammer's book (mentioned in the article previously posted) is an excellent reference. The simple act of stopping all sideline...

    One black ball?

Our District Inspector made a comment at the Officers Association meeting recently that bears consideration; "The Master of the Lodge should never be surprised by a black ball." Any objection to a Candidate should make it to the East long before the ballot takes place.

Masons launch school for kids with dyslexia

Very proud of my Mother jurisdiction. Saw several names I knew, including a PGM. There are some fine Brothers in Mesa Lodge. Good work!

My Old Brethren: Looking Five Generations for the GAOTU

Every person of Faith has a personal vision of what/who/when Deity is, often influenced to varying degree by their style of worship. Freemasonry teaches us to be Tolerant of that very thing. The GAOTU is the metaphorical vision of Deity that corresponds with our allegorical teachings, and allows...

    Apple's Presentation Livestream

I'm still learning new things about my 4... and the 6+ is just too big for my needs.

    initiation next Saturday nmj

The SR isn't in my future, but like any Masonic body, there is nothing you need to know prior to the day. Peeking at your presents only ruins the surprise.

    Women Freemasons

I think many Brothers have misunderstood the conversation. Women joining our lodges isn't the point, women having an option is. Remember that the first female Freemason (that we know of) was initiated more than two centuries ago. Carry on...

Video Tour of GL of Ireland

Beautiful building! Now I'm curious about "Prince Masons," as that's a new one for me.

    Shriner and Lucifer

That's what I called "strike anywhere" matches as a kid.

    Concordant Recognition

I believe that it depends on the appendant body and on the country. I am fairly certain that if I went to England I could sit in a Mark Lodge or a Royal Arch Chapter, but I don't know of I'd be welcome in the Order of the Temple there. No blanket rules.

    Shriner and Lucifer

It was good in the sense that the author clarified what the Shriner was actually trying to say (and that he was yanking the cameraman's chain), but the author is, above all else, an anti doing everything possible to "save Christians" from the evils of Freemasonry.

    Congratulations!

"What is the purpose of God in Freemasonry?"

To have Faith, regardless of the brand, implies a moral compass. That might be considered the "good" in the old chestnut. Freemasonry's "system of morality" then has a firm foundation in making the good man "better," whereas an immoral man cannot be made better as there is nowhere for the system...

    Freemasonry Stereotypes from non brothers

The only high-level plot I've discovered has been personal greed disguised as selflessness. It's interesting what having the keys to Camelot will do to some people...
