Masonic Restoration Foundation Symposium August 15-17, 2014

That is curious. You might want to contact them directly, as all the info I have comes straight from the website. The present President, Bro. Andrew Hammer, is very communicative, and easily tracked down on Facebook.

    Freemasonry Stereotypes from non brothers

The one that leaves me scratching my head is that we supposedly offer a different path to salvation. Really? I must have missed that Degree.

I thought you might peruse more of the site yourself... the board of directors are elected by the membership, like most organizations.

    Random Sightings

While watching Doctor Who last night (Season 3, Episode 2), I noticed a familiar item on a character's wall; A Master Mason certificate from UGLE.

    Acacia

There are 1,300 varieties, many of which do indeed grow in the desert. One variety grew in great multitudes along the Nile, and I'm sure hardier varieties adapted to survive further and further from that flood plain. Considering the the singular use if it in the woodworking of the tribes, I'd...

    Chapter ring

A triple Tau could evoke a lot of emotion, depending on the person. If I do advertise Chapter, I wear a keystone watch fob, which is common, but not as recognizable as the S&C. I'd like to get a pin like the piece in my avatar. If wearing the S&C is a problem, you might just forgo any rings or...

    How old is freemasonry?

A bit of nit-picking, but three lodges founded a Grand Lodge in 1717, so obviously Speculative Freemasonry was alive and well prior to that date. Numerous lodge records support this fact. When was morality first taught by metaphor? When did introspection for the purpose of personal betterment...

I tap any of these posts, or the "three dots" in the upper right, and edit comes up as a choice. This isn't to say everyone has that option...

    New Potential

Welcome to the forum! I recommend reaching out to the Brethren of the lodge now, regardless of your age. If it's going to be a good fit, you will have friends and supporters when it comes time to petition. Best wishes on your Journey!

    Handshake token outside the lodge

I often "tap" a man's hand in an EA grip if I believe him to be a Brother, and I always use that grip with known Brethren in a lodge building. I can still make a firm handshake out of it, and I like the connection it creates between Brothers.
