In NM, if you haven't paid by the end of June, you're NPD and no longer in good standing (can't attend or visit, etc). You can pay before the end of the year and stop the axe, but if it goes to the next year, you have to petition to rejoin.
We've only had one negative voice on the Cerrillos FB page, and that was a Mason bemoaning technology. In general, I'd say the page has helped the lodge's public face, even more than the website.
A friend loaned me a handheld for a while. Pretty quiet unless there was a forest fire. I've worked a number of downhill skateboard races where hammies were our main communication.
Not at all, it merely addresses the question of invitation. "Seek, Ask, Knock" is still the preferred method, and the "2B1" stickers are still stacked near the front door.
Which ritual would this GL use? Would it be Ancient or not? Would it be in amity with PHA? These aren't negatives, merely the first worms in a very large can.
I also have to ask the ever-important "why?"
Here's the GLNM's line on invitation:
"Code 308. SELECTIVE INVITATION.Any Master Mason in good standing may invite a man he knows to be of good character and morals to join the fraternity if he qualifies under Codes 301, 302 and 303 above."
Note the word "selective."
I don't really feel that I gained any prestige by becoming a Freemason. Perhaps I hold my head a little higher, perhaps I show more patience and consideration in my day-to-day life. But it's a change within myself I have found, not some outward gilding.
I'm not a fan of the numbers game, personally. I feel we outgrew our reality during the "boom," when every Tom, Dick, and Harry was accepted just because he knew someone, or worked for this or that company. We became another service organization, which is not what we were meant to be.
Check out the MWPHGLTN website and go from there. There is a section on joining as well as a list of lodges.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Accept his petition and carry on as you would with any candidate. His brand of faith is of no concern to you, and any conflict is between him and his church.
On the UGLE website there is the question, "Are there women Freemasons?" The response is, "Yes. Whilst UGLE, following the example of medieval stonemasons, is, and has always been, restricted to men, women Freemasons have two separate Grand Lodges, which are restricted to women."
I will add my 2p to the hat and reiterate what has been said before:
Internet Lodge 9659 is a regularly constituted lodge, warranted under the United Grand Lodge of England.
If anyone has questions or requires further information, please contact me via personal message, and I will gladly help.
"If the profile is public..." then go right ahead. Also google his name, as well as using the publicly available court resources. I have found more useful information online than a paid "background check" came up with.
Can't say which lodges will be meeting, but there seems to always be something going on at the Grand Lodge. Which, by the by, is one of many historical buildings waiting to amaze you.
