    Esoteric Masonry

I suppose since I am a member of the most elite fraternity, Eagle Scouts, I had that base covered :)

    Esoteric Masonry

A lot of Masons in the mainstream are not welcoming of talk of esoteric freemasonry because to them it doesn't exist. To them Masonry is a fraternal men's society, nothing more. Ritual is simply something to be endured until you get it over and done with. They just want a place to get away from...

    Good Blog, then Irregular Blog

I'll put it this way. Not sure if you have ever been married or not, but when you get married you make a vow until death do you part. Now, if you get a divorce do you still honor that vow? My obligation within the GL of CA belongs to them. I served the GL of CA for a decade. I made many life...

    Comasonry

Just to be clear there are no bare female breasts during any of the degrees. Everything is done symbolically and the candidate is prepared in a solemn and respectful way. It's all quite beautiful.

Regular Grand Lodge of Italy is not so regular, and Grand Orient of Italy is not so irregular.

Grand Orient of Italy is interesting. I was a guest of a Memphis Misraim Grand Orient lodge in Trieste once. I have a deep affection for the romantic and esoteric nature of Italian Freemasonry. CAMEA in Italy is also very interesting.

    The Traditonal Observance Lodge Explained

I know I am necro bumping old threads but I am new here. Anyway, I remember when TO was just getting started. I was a guest at both Academia Lodge in SF and Esoterika Lodge in Seattle. I think there is a need for lodges like this in the mainstream. In work they reminded me of the handful of PHO...

Becoming a Mason in a Mass Ceremony.

Good question. IMHO Freemasonry is an initiatic system and experience. A Mason made at sight eliminated that experience so you could say I am not a fan but as far as I know a Mason made at sight is not of a honorary thing. I'm not aware of any who then became active Masons but I could be wrong...

    Good Blog, then Irregular Blog

Thanks for the question. The way I look at it I demitted, no longer being a part of that jurisdiction. My previous obligation was to that jurisdiction and within it's regulation. I didn't go behind the back of that jurisdiction and sit in a lodge with women, I did the honorable thing and removed...

    Clandestinely made Masons

Don't get me wrong, I am not looking for anyone to legitimize anything, that is what ritual does. Not too worried about jurisdictions outside of mine.

    Clandestinely made Masons

You don't have to accept anyone when it comes down to it but going out of your way to insult and hurt people just doesn't seem Masonic to me. Hell, a lot of operative stone masons weren't too hot on the speculatives infiltrating their guilds either. Also, get right down to it every speculative...

Irregular Masonic Bodies Operating in Texas

According to Lisa's jurisdiction you would be. I hate to tell you this but no Mason is obligated to accept what a jurisdiction other than theirs deem regular.

    Clandestinely made Masons

Are you sitting in a lodge that is outside the jurisdiction of your home lodge?

Becoming a Mason in a Mass Ceremony.

Depends on what you want your Freemasonry to be. If you want it to be a frat where fellowship with other men being your goal than a one day class works just fine. If you want your Freemasonry to be an intiatic society that provides esoteric value than a one day class is antithetical to that...

    Clandestinely made Masons

I don't see how labeling anyone clandestine does any good. No one jurisdiction owns Freemasonry no matter what anyone tells you. There has always been multiple jurisdictions some recognize each other, some don't. I am a big believer in initiatic efficacy. If someone is getting what they want out...

    Yellow Dog Degree

I got my Yellow Dog in Spring City Tennessee in 2006. It's a fun little thing but I wouldn't consider it an actual degree, just more of a bit of fun.

Greetings from a Brother in California.

Hello all. I have been a Mason for twenty years. I was a member of a lodge under the GL of California for ten years. Went through the Scottish and York rites, I was very active and enjoyed my time. About ten years ago I decided to join LDH and have been active there ever since. I am a ritualist...

    Good Blog, then Irregular Blog

I have shared a lodge with women for over ten years. I have never run into an inappropriate interaction or situation that entire time. We understand that we are there to do common work and everyone acts appropriately. One thing I want to mention is that we all have our jurisdictions...

    Comasonry

Why would you want to disrupt someone's initiation into a jurisdiction that isn't yours and has no impact on you? Does that sound like a masonic way to behave? That and your hypothetical would never happen. They tyle their lodges just as everyone else does. You wouldn't be able to just walk in...
