    Help

I attended the NMJ 33° conferral in Cleveland last summer, just because I wanted to see their version. Yes, it's very, very different from the SJ. Now I want to see the Prince Hall Scottish Rite 33° if I can.

    Help

Brother Cook is correct; the 33° is NOT an honorary degree. The confusion stems from the title of Inspector General Honorary. That's because the title indicates that the recipient of the degree is an honorary member of the Supreme Council, as opposed to an active Sovereign Grand Inspector General.

Welcome Brothers: GL of Ohio Raises 780 in Statewide One Day Class

The few studies that have been done show that one-day members stick around and are active at virtually the same rate as traditionally-raised Masons. And that has seemed to be our experience in my own lodge.

    Any Vietnamese Freemason?

Yeah, I've read several reports that Ho was made a Mason in Paris when he was young, but I've never seen any citation. Do a Google search on "was Ho Chi Minh a Freemason" and you'll find some references.

    Any Vietnamese Freemason?

I think he is looking for any American Masons who happen to be Vietnamese.

    Any Vietnamese Freemason?

I'm not Vietnamese, but I spent a year there in 1970-71: An Khe, Phuoc Vinh, Bien Hoa. I'm glad you're safely here, brother.

    Master Mason Pocket Certificate

Replaced in the US by dues cards. That certificate doesn't tell whether someone is dues-current. People used to carry their Scottish Rite patents around in a case like that, and get brothers to sign around margins. Now mostly they are framed.

GM of Georgia Issues Edict Banning Widows Sons Motorcycle Riders

The general public doesn't understand the significance of two rocker patches vs. three. They don't understand a "riding association" vs. a "motorcycle club." They see guys on motorcycles, wearing vests with rocker patches and think "motorcycle gang." Associating the square and compass with...

Becoming a better man, and associating with other good men. That's it. If you're looking for the rumored wealth and power that comes from being a Mason, you've been misled.

    Corn, Wine & Oil

Absolutely. I'd be honored. Yeah, we do it after the degree is completed. The Master asks the Senior Warden to "pay the new craftsmen their wages" and then he asks me to explain. The first thing I tell them is that what we're doing is not a part of official Minnesota ritual, but simply a...
