Fair enough. I just wanted to clarify. I too would find it completely disrespectful if a brother was not giving his undivided attention to the officers and brethren present. If an emergency were to arise one should excuse themselves...

How is it disrespectful if it doesn't go off? Or more importantly, if it does no one can hear it? Simply having it, or having it on silent is no more disrespectful than wearing a watch. As long as it isn't heard or seen, what's the harm?

Normally I only set it to vibrate, because I don't get an urge to check it. But if a degree is being conferred, I either turn it off or leave it in my car.

2 weeks after being raised I turned in my masters, and that same day I received my C cert. Unfortunately before obtaining my A I moved to another state and now I need to relearn the degrees with their language and don't currently hold any certificates.

I have to agree with a lot of what has been said here. I often hear complaints about candidates being raised and still have a lot of questions. When they ask fellow brothers, they're met with, "I don't know." Many men want to learn, to thrive in masonry, but because there isn't any education...
