I understand that it has always been around, no debating that. My stance is that it is more prevalent and influencing now than it was then.
My bottom line here is that I want to see facts being reported, not facts twisted around opinions. I want reporters to be hungry for the truth, not a...
Depends on your definition of "recent." I think it primarily goes back 20-30 years, and with the creation of CNN, and other news-only networks. Back in the day (before my time) news was more local, whereas today, news is more focussed on nation and world wide coverage. With today's internet...
Well, if his muslim extremist views motivated the attack, then yes, it does have to do with it.
I do agree with what you are saying in regards to the sensationalist aspect to it though. The word "terrorist" doesn't really evoke much of anything in me anymore, regardless of what word comes...
With all the talk about lodges losing members, needing to give up charters, etc, what do you guys think the ideal number of active, dues paying members is for a lodge to function properly?
San Francisco has a comparable size with Ft Worth, with San Fran having roughly 800,000, and Ft Worth having around 720,000 people, and we only need 8, but are stuck with many more.
While I always appreciate a good rant, sometimes it just is what it is.
The words "Islamo" or "muslim" before fascist or terrorist is just like any other adjective. The first word lends more description to the second. Without them, we can assume that all terrorists from any different...
No, the media is gonna spin it however they want depending on which party they advocate. Like I said a long time ago, we have no big neutral media outlets anymore. That's why I get mine from Al Jazeera.
Josh, what does the actual article say regarding suspending these lodges? The one you posted deals with how an already suspended lodge in arrears can resume labor.
I haven't received mine, and haven't for almost two years. For some reason, when I moved, they never changed my address down there after I called, e-mailed, and sent them regular mail requesting they do so. Maybe it is for the better.
Like Sonny, my folks have been here forever too. I had...
That is a load of BS. Wiser men don't need to do anything but follow the law as it is written in our blue book on this one. Close the doors, plain and simple.
I don't think that is the issue at all. Grand Lodge knows of the serious racism issues that plague multiple lodges across the state, and this is very poor timing and taste considering what is going on in many lodges. Definitely sends the wrong message.
Seriously hesitant doesn't mean "won't do it." When you have those guys over there shooting the people they are shooting for very little reason, if any, I don't see it as a stretch to shoot "American public enemies" on our own soil.
Other than that, I think we are pretty much in agreement...
Agreed about the silent majority being ignorant. Apathy breeds ignorance. Like I said, I fall into this category quite often. They will always be silent, because, "Who cares? One is just as bad as the other."
Where are we going to get the "education" to bring this thing back? The...
