Usually the Commandery just meets as Knights Templars. I'm sure you could have the Priory open for instructional purposes. The opening of the Knights of Malta is a bit quicker than opening a Commandery of Knights Templar.
I hope you enjoy the degrees and orders of the York Rite. I'd say one should go through each degree as you would through the Blue Lodge, but if you go through a festival I still hope you enjoy yourself.

Due to new changes recently passed at the last General Grand Chapter 1st cousins of Master Masons may petition to join the Eastern Star. I don't think all the websites or Constitutions have been updated.
When worn properly they look impressive, but they can restrict movements. I do like the Cap and Mantle, but it makes sword work very difficult as I recently found out.
I'm not a fan of the festivals and until we can fully change it I'm implementing Days of Instruction to help new candidates...
Every Lodge in Idaho gives their Past Master different regalia. My Lodge bought a nice diamond PM lapel pin and then a white lambskin apron with the PM jewel on it. I've never seen an Idaho Lodge in recent times give out a collar.
