As stated above, it would be up to local jurisdiction when you may wear it.
As for the second part of your question, I think that for the most part, it is up to you and your taste of jewelry. Myself, I have a stainless steel everyday ring that I wear to work. Cost me around $100.00 U.S. so it is...
I have a stainless ring I wear most all of the time except when I am going to a "dress up affair". Then I have a dressier gold ring that my wife gave me when I was raised that I wear. It is too nice and way too expensive to wear every day in Dallas (for obvious reasons)
Masonry refers to scripture in several places and is based on a belief of a supreme being. However, to actually gain a better understanding, you need to be in the word. I would recommend getting a study bible to use. That has helped me understand the bible more than Masonry has.
I am in a small lodge and really prefer it that way. I have visited some larger lodges and find that they are not as friendly. In fact, one lodge there were about 60 members present and some didn't know all of their names. Now I am bad with names but I know all of the brothers that have been...

Have it checked by an ENT immediately.
Although I understand some circumstances such as health that do not allow someone to stand to greet someone. A couple of years ago I had knee surgery and couldn't stand. But even, when approached, I would say something to the nature of "forgive me for not standing but my health won't allow it"...
I was at the Family Day this weekend and saw that the Grand Master was making stops at various booths. I had an EA working our booth with me when he stopped to greet us. I rose and explained to the new EA he should rise as well. We both shook his hand and exchanged pleasantries and then he...
I agree. We have 2 African Americans members but only 1 is active. He is currently our Senior Steward but also leads our committee on work. We also have several Hispanic members as well. We would welcome any man as long as he is of good moral character.
