While I'm thinking about it, could it be possible that with it being close to the years end and plus elections for officers for the upcoming year, could that be why my asking hasn't been further addressed to ME.
Or am I overthinking it again
Yes my father in law is a member of that lodge. And he is the person that I asked about joining and receiving a petition. He hasn't mentioned anything since (not to ME at least) so all I have is high hopes that in due time I will receive one. And the lodge is Greensboro #223 in Greensboro, Ga
Thanks @crono782. I tend to have a habit of overthinking things. I get like that with things I find meaningful and important and it's even worse when I don't really understand all terms of what's going on as you can see.
So I just catch them early on a meeting day and the ball shall start...
I understand that and I'm not looking for an invite to join. I already took it upon myself to express interest in joining. I've done that. They say "2B1ASK1" and I have asked one that I know and I addressed it in a letter I sent to the lodge as well. So I understand that no one is soliciting...
The thing is that they KNOW that I am interested. And have yet to say "we are having dinner at such and such time on such and such date feel free to join us. I keep getting that I should show up to dinner, but I'm not going to show up anywhere unannounced or uninvited especially when they...
To me it stands for everything I want out of life. To know myself. To be associated with truth and honesty. To truly be a brother and friend.
I have no biological brothers and that makes my desire to become a Mason even more passionate. Because as a friend to my fellow men I always treat them...
Today, since I was unsure if my request was acknowledged, I decided to take a more professional and formal approach. I sent a letter to the lodge. That way I know it will be received the next time they have a meeting. Hopefully this will open the door to an invitation to dinner that you men have...
I've heard this being referred to by a few Masons that I have talked to in general conversation. What does this entail and how different is it from the regular year?
Thanks a lot. Needed that encouragement. I sometimes take the hesitance as a sign of resistance or even worse rejection sometimes. I guess not really understanding it all does that to you sometimes @BRO. SQUARE
@dfreybur I have never been invited to the lodge on meeting days as of yet, I have just been around for public events and helping them prepare and wrap up. And I should ask again next month if I haven't received or continue to be patient. I'm trying to be somewhat modest and not be a pester...
@Morris thank you for you encouragement and that information. It is greatly appreciated. I will continue to make efforts to fellowship with the brothers while awaiting the next step of the application process. My thing now is doing so without being too pushy or seeming desperate.
I have helped...
Good Evening All,
For those who have been seeing my previous posts about my inquiring of joining, I ASKED. Didn't get a direct response (Not sure how that is handled on the other side). A sense of relief and I can somewhat feel at ease. Just playing the waiting game now while anxiously awaiting...
