I have been privileged and honored to be re-appointed by Grand Master-elect Thomas Hauder as Grand Junior Steward of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska for the ensuing Masonic year. Installation will be the last day of Annual Communication February 2, 2013 4:00 PM.
This reminds me of an article I saw about a mystery man in Kansas City who went around to different unemployment offices and even the local Goodwill stores and handed out cash to different people. The way I understand it he has given away almost $100,000 in the last 15 or so years.
In Nebraska, if an EA or a FC have not advanced within 5 years they are dropped and if they want to continue they will have to petition again, be initiated again. Sometimes there is a good reason for not continuing, but communication is the key here. Also we need to do a better job sometimes...

In my jurisdiction you cannot be an "unaffiliated" Mason, you must be a member of a subordinate Lodge. In that case if you "demit" you are no longer a Mason in the eyes of the Grand Lodge of my jurisdiction.
