    Investigation Committee

As most of our rejections occurred prior to going to vote, I see no problem paraphrasing the reasons... I've seen negative investigations for crimes, for patterns of recklessness, and for flat-out mercenary motives.

    Opening in an EA

When I visited a lodge in Philly, I asked which Degree they would be Opening on... they looked at me like I was from another planet.

    Young Masons Group

I've seen the idea at work with no political ramifications. Age-based peer groups tend to occur in any large group of people. Having a "Young Guns" club seems to bring out members and their talents, plus child care at events, Big Brothers, more "active" activities... I don't see it as an attempt...

    Willie Robertson

Pretty common saying in some parts, like pulling the wool over your eyes.

    Fundrasing ideas?

I'd never heard of it till I was in the Navy, an Ohio gal taught me to play.

Dual/plural memberships. Should Masons be able to join multiple lodges?

Re: Dual/plural memberships. Should Masons be able My Mother Lodge is 1,100 miles away. If I go back to visit, I can vote (if there is a vote called), but that's the extent of it.

    One black ball?

By the nature of the word "unanimous" we are bound by a single vote. And besides, "we've always done it that way." ;)

    Masonry

Not affiliated with a Grand Lodge? Probably bogus. Doesn't use initials in the name? You need to research deeper and very carefully.

    Saturday Mornings

Back in Santa Fe we had "Quest Club" on Saturday mornings. It was coffee and donuts and open discussion that anyone could come to. Many of our petitions came from men who began having coffee at Quest, myself included. I keep meaning to start a post about it; I'll try to do that this evening.

Ideas for a newly raised brother?

Attend lodge, visit other lodges, begin learning the Ritual (all of it). Get to know your lodgeroom and it's set-up. *and now for the sappy metaphors* Take your time, allow it grow around you, and you within it. Masonry is a fine meal and it should be savoured one bite at a time.

    Code/Ritual books

In some jurisdictions there is the Masonic Code and in others it's the Constitution and By-Laws. Many have (as mentioned) a Monitor, which is what your book appears to be. Some states have a Cipher (or Cifer), which is a "coded" version of the entire Work of the a Three Degrees. Much of the...
