    Confusing.
It is said that we can not join, visit, merge, meet, or have masonic communication.

Does this mean that we can not help each other. for instance with a bbq fundraiser to help a Prince Hall lodge raise money for their lodge

I wouldn't consider a public BBQ fundraiser or similar event a violation. In matter of fact, there are Brothers who've recently attended a PH BBQ function. If the current rumblings pan out, expect some BIG changes in the next 2-3 years. Personally I look forward to the day when full visitation between our Masonic Bodies comes to fruition.

SO then we could help each other out?

I don't see anything in the GL bylaws that would label that as a Masonic offense. Esoteric or "official" Masonic communication yes, hanging out or even supporting a public event no. Might wanna check with more informed Brothers..lol.

I don't view as supporting their events any different as going to a function held by the optimists or other organization. GLoTX says you treat them as they are a non-mason. We just recognize them as sharing the same jurisdiction and practicing "regular" Masonry. As far as BBQs go for it I promise you that you will love it. As a matter of fact our GM attended a PHA BBQ.

No this is not an offense. To hang out with PH Brothers is completley allowed and any who says otherwise speaks nonsense. You can even talk about how awesome Masonry is with them. This compact will not allow us to talk about specifics on the work otherwise you can talk to them just as you would anybody else.

the way i understood it was we can meet and greet as masons just not visit lodge. i would like to know what the law book says. i personally would not see anything wrong with going to a fundraiser. i would think as long as it i not an official meeting it would be fine

Our law book as far as I can find has nothing concerning visiting PH Brothers nor have I seen an edict concerning it. Short of calling our GL and asking for a copy of the comapact signed I am not sure how we would know from our own eyes. I have looked high and low but can find nothing from our GL concerning PH visitation or the compact signing. I did find just as LRG, PH GL did celebrate this monumental occasion but the document they publishised is a little vague in the exact rules and more an account of the activities leading up to and the signing of the compact.
We know we cannot go sit in an open Lodge with PH Brothers but to twist this compact up to think we cannot talk with them is just crazy. You could even go and take a tour of the PH Lodge building all the while talking history of the Masonic order and how far back Masonry is in each of your families and what it means to you both, none of this is illegal and it suprises me some think so. We are not Nazi Masons. :)

Thank You Brethren for your input.

It is true, our own lodges are in much despair. A rather bit of encourgement would go a long way for all lodges.

    Imagine a . for a thread starter:30:

What I find interesting about this whole thing is this, no provision in the Ancient Landmarks provide for partial recognition of a Mason. So if a GL is Regular and it recognizes another GL as regular, members may visit. This compact seems to be an imposition on our most ancient traditions.
