Arkansas shrine

I know I'm late on this but can someone explain to me why you no longer have to be a mason to join the shrine in Arkansas? I'm just curious.

Do a couple of searches in the forum and on Freemasons for dummies and you'll find plenty of discussions about it.
Very short version is that blue lodge and Shrine got in a fight, and Shrine voted to drop the MM requirement.
