Cancer fighting foods

Brethren,

I am in the gym every chance I get. Being in that environment you hear about all the 'newest' muscle building foods and supplements which are generally old herbs or chemicals repackaged in a shiny new container. Because of the debates that generally arise I frequent PubMed.gov which is a virtual archive of NIH studies on the effects of almost every compound you would want to know about. I have come across a great many articles on these two foods and how effective they are at fighting Cancer.

Breast Cancer - Cold Milled Flaxseed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15897583

Most all cancer - High dosage of this Oil has Significant Cancer fighting properties - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1617062/ this is not an endorsement to go out and act silly, it is the OIL that holds the primary properties.

Coconut oil
Olive oil
Grape seed oil
Flax seed in any form
Rapini (broccoli rabe)
Green or purple Kale
Blueberries
Grapes
Pea shoots and sprouts
Apples
Lemons
Grapefruit

When I was in college for culinary, I had a few
Nutrition classes. Of course eating any of these isn't a direct cure for cancer, but they all are very good for the immune system. I always believed in prevention as the only cure. IMO Cancer being a degenerative disease, is a direct result of poor habits in health in lifestyle. Of
Course genes play a huge part in it too. It's not like a cold where if you don't want to take anything, you could just eat a clove of garlic and wrap yourself in your bed sheets, to wake up in a puddle of sweat the next morning, with your cold gone. (my grandfather does this)
I'm sure others will feel differently, but I too go the gym a lot, and see all these supplements being hyped up etc. I don't take any of the stuff. (personally I think most that stuff isn't good anyway) I try to eat healthy with proper exercise.
Bro. Neumann, what is your opinion GMO foods?

-Coconut and Olive oil reduce frequency of cancer http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3459924 in comparison to their corn and safflower counterparts
-Grape seed oil is very effective depending on diet and how it is consumed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15570052
-Turnip - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23435947
-Broccoli when cooked with mustard seeds - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23411305
-Colored berries do enhance the immune system http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23653223 while strawberries fight cancer http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23071702
**Lemon and other citrus peels protect your cardio system during chemo http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23646300 depending on how they are prepared.
**Grapefruit can either help or hurt depending on active receptors http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2359690/

Citrus is dangerous when taken with some medicine, your doctor must be consulted.

Before taking supplements, even meds prescribed by a doctor, I pubmed them. Many times doctors simply prescribe what the drug companies pay them to prescribe without regard to in-depth studies conducted on alternatives.

- That is what happens with GMO's. No in depth study is done, especially in the long term. Also the food is made to resist infections and diseases, but at the same time these very diseases are adapting to these factors. I just don't know how safe that can be.
