Cuban black beans with rice

1/2 pound dry black (turtle) beans, rinsed and sorted.
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 green pepper stems and seeds removed, chopped
1/2 onion chopped

mix all ingredients in crock pot. add enough water to cover ingredients. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, until beans are tender.

Serve on cooked rice.

garnish with dollop of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onion.
