I've progressed in my pursuit to prepare to Recite the Language at Lodge, to make my final proficiency. Issue at hand: the OB. Lengthy and has some Big Words. Suggestions on how to Mentally keep these in order?

I used a voice recorder - recorded myself reciting it and played it back anytime I was alone. Made it really easy. Just like learning a song. Don't forget to delete it though. Don't want a non-Mason hearing it.

Your teacher should make sure that you know the meanings of the words. It makes the easier to remember

We have an acronym we use at our lodge to keep the parts of our OB in order. I haven't used it but I can easily find out what it is if you think it might be helpful to you.

Record yourself and recite back. Also in the OB it helps to break it down into sections or paragraphs. Learn a paragraph at a time. I'd like to think I'm a decent public speaker and these techniques helped improve my memorization faster and more efficiently.

I would totally not do this. In my humble opinion, it is contrary to the obligation and the spirit of the work. Just sayin.

Well, in a nutshell, as an EA you swear never to create anything that will allow a non-mason to learn the secrets of masonry (in this case, the obligation and Q&A). Granted, it doesn't specify making recordings of yourself but at the rate technology is advancing it'd be pretty hard to keep the OB updated...and even harder to remember the changes.

There's a reason it's all garbled in the funny book (so I hear, I've never seen one, ofcourse :001_unsure and I still think that's crossing the line. I guess you could just record your Q&A in pig latin or something.

In Texas the entire catechism (Q&As) of all the Degrees is considered esoteric.
