Emerg. Workers don't get enough credit. I think 9/11 was a wake up to most people on how much these people sacrifice to keep order when there is chaos.

I live in a small town, and have some friends who are volunteer firefighters, as well as full time police and EMS. There isn't too much action around here, but these guys are alway ready and prepared. Probably the only thing I agree with as to where my tax money goes.
