Hmm that is a tricky one. I'm normally Mr Grammar police, but I'm not sure on that one. "Those" I would say is the subject and "it" would be the object so I think who is correct. Then again I'm not directly applying action to "it", rather "in it" is descriptive of "participating", in which case "those" could be the subject and object and "whom" is appropriate. It's too early in the AM for this, hah!
