Secretary's Log Book Question(s)

First, I have to ask what the proper name is for the Secretary's log book. Is it just called the log book? The minutes?

Anyway, my real question is: is it against the rules to get a copy of a page from this book? I'm asking, because I'm going to be presenting an account from the Civil War-era (edit: this story will be presented during lodge), and if possible, I would like to have a copy to show during lodge (rather than have everything be anecdotal). I think it would go a long way to lend credibility to the story, and it would also be neat to show a small piece of history at the same time.

Would it be improper for me to make the request? I don't want to do something that would violate rules, but more than that, I wouldn't want to get someone in trouble for helping me out (if we were both ignorant as to the rules).

Thanks!

edit: For clarification, I would be requesting to make a copy from another lodge's record to present during my lodge's meeting.

I'm assuming you are referring to the minutes of the Lodge. If so, you will need to have the permission of that Lodge to get a copy of the particular page. I don't know Georgia Masonic law but here in Texas, you could only show or recite the contents of that page in a tiled Lodge. Non-Masons are not entitled to see or hear any portion of a Lodge's minutes.

Thank you for the response. When presented, we would be tiled. I contacted their Secretary, and he said that it should be fine.

Thanks again for responding.
