An interesting observation: the thread "Ancient Aliens Debunked" has received 1,427 views. This one, although a search of "Masonic Philosophy" will result in 900,000 hits, has received 9 views.

What aspects of Masonry are 21st-century Masons actually interested in pursuing?

I thought the emoticon in the previous post was a smiley casting a fishing line. On closer examination, it appears to be a whip.

"Yes, Masonry is more than social good fellowship, more than ritual,
more than organized charity. It is a way of living; a Philosophy of Life.

Thank you for sharing the link, I find that Freemasonry literature from the 1900s - 1920s to be some of the most well thought out and well written in our American history.

I think JFN is an outstanding writer, and agree that all Freemasons should read him. Giving new Master Masons a copy is a far better gift that some of the books they send out these days (no offense to any author).

I thought the whip fitting for the content of the post. ;) And thanks for the links.

The Builders was/is one of my favorite works in Freemasonry. Newton had a nice style to his writings.

I just want to state for the record that I am not answering my own questions - simply reiterating one and developing it a bit further.

That question goes to why a man knocked in the first place. Self-improvement? There are hundreds of self-help books and seminars.

Help the community? There are dozens of well-respected and effective charitable organizations.

    Fellowship? Mystery? Enlightenment?
