That was my thought. If bringing his lover around the lodge causes a disruption in the peace and harmony, then its a problem. The same would be true if my wife were a trouble maker, a drunk, etc. and disrupted the peace and harmony. I would expect the master or officers of the lodge to keep...
I don't have any new info on a loan source. But I will give some advice on the engine, get a good one. I replaced a blown engine in one of our trucks a few years back. For various reasons, I went the cheap route and got a refurbished (or a word to that effect) engine. One year later, it blew...
Couldn't a candidate just be a single (unmarried) male? We have inititiated several single fellows in the past few months. I have no idea what their sexual orientation is based on the petition.
But I will give you this, if you put married, I would have to assume that you are straight.
Like others have said, I think it literally means, "So may it be" or "Let it be so". The same as "Amen". But practically, it is a statement of agreement. When we say "Amen" or "So mote it be" in response to another we are stating our agreement with what they have said.
I also agree with Bro. Lopez.
And add that IMO the argument about multiple wives is another fallacy in the article. Just because someone did something in the Bible does not make it acceptable. If you want to see how multiple wives caused problems look at the life of David. I'm sure...
A similar thought. I agree that somewhere between 25 - 50 is a nice size, as it makes for more intimate group. But is it possible to fund the lodge with so few members? Or do we need the less active brothers for there money (dues)?
So I am with you, a 200 member lodge with 10 to 20 percent...
Its refreshing to see a parent that stands up to their children and won't lie for them. My wife is a teacher and I am on the school board, and as far as we see, it is rare that a parent does not take the child's side and back up the kids lie to keep them out of trouble.
BTW, your kid will be...
I have the same feeling. BTW, the guy hasn't been back or at least logged in since his last post.
Not wanting to be a jerk, myself, I kind of kept me peace about the fact that two brothers that knew him would not sign. That brings up some suspicion in my book, not an automatic death...
Yes, I know that in the short term (my life) my pocketbook will be hit and I am angry about that. What angers me even more is the effect that the huge spending and policies of at least the last two adminstrations will have on my little girl. I wonder if she will she have the opportunity to...
When wearing a sport coat or suit jacket in lodge, do you wear the apron over the coat? Or under with the coat with the coat unbuttoned?
At our installation this past summer, I had a brother tell me that the must be worn outside. Then when we got in, the PM who was doing the installation had...
My guess it that the SR has made an agreement with the insurance companies to provide a discount to the members, in return the SR encourages its members to buy the insurance. Its a business move. So, yes the GLOT probably could do, but there may be some issues or rules that prevent the GL from...
I guess my problem is not as much taking the pictures, but the polititcians being in the photo and publishing it. But absolutely before any photos are released in the media, the families should have to sign off on it.
Its a little bit difficult to put my thoughts on this into words. But I think the Order of the Temple is more meaningful to a person who is a Christian or at least Christian leaning. By that I am referring to some of the guys I know who don't go to church but their family did and they go on...
That is my recommedation.
I did the York Rite in my first year (a couple of months after being raised) and will do the Scottish Rite as some point when I am looking for a new experience. But I have only been to one commandery meeting since the festival, which was in August. I have put...
