This board is run by a friend of mine, He is considering closing it down, for lack of activity. If every Texas mason visited there, he will change his mind.

It is a nice board, just not very active!

Sign on, and encourage David to keep the board up!

As much as I like the name "Trestleboard" for a set of forums... I'm pretty busy here and with my own set of boards (non-masonic)

Tell him to keep his head up. Forums are a lot of work and take years to build up.

the URL is going to be hard to find on a search engine.

also, a more masonic theme might be helpful.

i could come up with some more tips if he likes. i ran some phpBB boards for a couple years, fairly familiar with that system.

Well off the bat I was uncomfortable that I had to provide my full name, home address, and telephone otherwise I couldn't register. Running a Forum, especially a Masonic forum takes ALOT of effort. Creating a Forum is easy, getting people to participate is a whole different ballgame. Fortunately there are many knowledgeable and eager Brothers on here. If it wasn't for them, this place would be a ghost town. Unless he's happy with lower membership, he'll have to get on the search engines and hustle the website address on other Masonic forums, websites, newsletters, etc. Gotta get the word out!
