I’m deploying to Kabul in the very near future. I’ll be based at the Afghan officers academy, (sandhurst in the sand) does anyone have any idea if there is a running lodge there?

Here we go again! Members of this forum can not "help" you join Freemasonry other than to tell you to contact the Grand Lodge over your jurisdiction. If there is no Grand Lodge in your region / country Google the one closest to you. If Freemasonry is illegal in your country forget it unless you are willing to move out of your country.

The only Freemason lodges in Afghanistan are on military bases - locals cannot join as very likely the Afghanistan government considers Freemason to be pro-Zionist (which is NOT true). Iran at one time after the revolution executed Freemasons just for being members. Good luck!

Unless you can and will move out of Afghanistan permanently (and have hundreds of US$ and from 6 months to 3 years time to be a full Master Mason) and even then you would have to be elected to receive the degree.

I think there are two problems here:

1. You have problems with the English language and/or

2. You cannot accept the fact that Freemasonry in Afghanistan is limited to US/UK military bases and then only to military or civilian personnel authorized to be on base.
