legal Past Master Question

I am about to become the past master of Lometa lodge 514 (This July) and a dear friend and brother has bought a past masters badge (From europe) for me. I told him that I am not sure that I can wear it legally as it is from another Masonic Jurisdiction (Italy). Am I correct or being just overly squirrely?

Thanks
Larry

I would wear it, in my opinion once you are a PM you are entitled to wear a PM badge ,pin or what ever you have earned that right

i would say you're fine with wearing it after you become a PM.

Hi Larry.

Obviously this is a matter for the rules of your own GL, and of course the rules differ between jurisdictions, so I've no idea what you may or may not be allowed to do in GLoTX.

Here in England, we wouldn't be allowed to wear a foreign decoration in Lodge, we can wear only the regalia defined by our own jurisdiction. Even if a UGLE member is also an actual member in another jurisdiction, then he must still wear only his UGLE regalia when he's in his UGLE Lodge (unless he's acting as an official Representative of his other jurisdiction). For example, I'm an honorary member in two jurisdictions outside UGLE, and in one of them I even have an honorary Office, but nevertheless I can't wear that regalia in UGLE Lodges. But of course overseas visitors who are not UGLE members can (and should) wear their own jurisdiction's regalia in our Lodges.

You need to take a picture of it and post it! My wife say's "Freemasons are like fish, they're all attracted to little shiny things."
