Any man, free born, of the mature age, sound judgement, strict morals and under the tongue of good rapport, and who professes a belief in a benevolent supreme being can become a Freemason. Allah is but one name of the deity.

Yes. There have been Muslim brothers for centuries. A Muslim brother attended my degrees, though typical in Masonry it was several years before I learned what his religion is. For that matter I have no way to tell if he was the only Muslim brother present at my degrees. I have attended at least one degree with the candidate being obligated on his family Glorious Koran. That brother is now progressing through the line in one of my lodges.

The man who first tapped me for our progressive line was a Muslim man who was WM of our lodge, for the second time.

Short answer - definitely.

In some countries where Islamic
Fundamentalism is prevalent or involved with the government, Freemasonry is banned outright, as to them it is involved in the "Jewish/Zionist" plot. Smh

Yes they can be a Freemason to us as Masons and they maybe in there hart, but if they believe that the Quran is infallible they can not follow it and let us be Christian, Jewish, Hindu ... not convert to Islam. This was made clear in 635ad when Mohammed beheaded everyone in his own army if they did not call him Profit which was about 1/3 of it. I hope this doesn't affind anyone but what I have said it is history and the way I take it personally.

I base my opinions on a Ex friend that when he came back to town after graduating college and told me our friend ship was a Tquiyya and Kitman, and if I convert to Islam we will stay friends. This is when I started investigating Islam to see what this mint to me. I have read the Qurain and Hadith both in English so there can be some translation problems. So this is why my personal view of Islam is the way it is. If any form of lying is acceptable for any reason how can you believe anything. I wish I was not so cynical but I thought back then I had a Muslim friend. When one of my study's lead to the next and to the next I could not believe what was in the text.

I love my Bro's. I will do anything for them, it is only that little tidbit of knowledge that makes me wonder can I trust a Muslim to do the same because I am a Chirstian and will never deny Chirst to death. No one human is perfect and Knowledge colors our thought.

That happens under any oppressive regime so it's not the Islam part that's to blame. It's the fundamentalism part. There are Christian fundamentalist sects that ban their members from Masonry. You name the religion and it's possible to find fundies in it that cause problems so it's not unique to the JCI family either.

Some Masons like to claim Masonry is descended by the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar were wiped out by religious leaders and secular leaders merging their powers improperly and taking those powers much too far. That's very much a parallel situation to modern Masonry being persecuted by modern religious leaders and secular leaders merging their powers improperly and taking those powers much too far.

Atheist dictators do the same. Again the problem is not with a religious choice but with authorities becoming oppressive and abusive.

This is one of the many reasons I enjoy Freemasonry. Many people of different beliefs able to come together as brothers. So mote it be.

That's probably more of a political issue. Germany banned Freemasonry from the mid-1930s until defeat in WWII, even though it officially courted certain Christian denominations.

If you have such reservations, how can you accept Muslim Freemasons? One either must accept that Muslims can be full Freemasons or reject it and act accordingly, there is no honorable middle ground. Not all Muslims accept all the Hadith, and interpretation of the Hadith can vary widely among those who do accept a given Hadith. One might as well say that one has read the Bible and all Apocrypha and concluded that one can't trust Christians, even though no Christian group accepts all the Apocrypha as being on par with the Bible.

What about Verses 2:62, 29:46, and others?

If Islam is so antithetical to Freemasonry, it is your moral obligation to call for its ejection. If it is not your moral obligation to demand its objection, then it must not be antithetical.
