Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
There are lodges who keep their records in a ledger book, and write everything down with a ball-point pen. In Kentucky, the grand Lodge mandated that all subordinate lodges adopt a certain software package. This was required, so that all lodges...
There used to be a Masonic organization for young boys, called the "Boy builders". And I read somewhere about another organization called the "Triangles", for children of Masons.
If your sons/daughters are interested in Masonry, you need to steer them to the DeMolay/Rainbow/Job's Daughters...
Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
The only way to "fix" Masonry in North America, and worldwide, is to make Masonry more relevant to the 21st Century man. The programs, and attitudes of our Grandfather's time, just ain't cutting it. Masonry, if it is to survive, will need...
Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
Are you suggesting, that if Freemasonry banned computers and the internet, that we would see growth?
Print newsletters are expensive and obsolete, many lodges are going to all-electronic delivery of their lodge news.
Like it or not, we live...

Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
Any Grand Lodge officer who cannot cope with modern technology, needs to resign or be impeached.
Any Mason who has difficulty with the internet, needs to check with his local library or vocational school and learn about e-mail, etc.
If a...
Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
You need to examine the title of this thread, and the general gist of the comments. No one is interested in changing Masonry . But, there are many things that can be done to improve and enhance the Masonic experience.
Thomas Jefferson (not...
Re: What would you like to see changed in the Maso
If you are the kind of person who is opposed to change, you are in the right organization. Masons do not believe in change.
Re: Masonic Membership Statistics, Should be we co
I am delighted to see that Texas and California are growing! What is your secret? And can other grand Lodges pick up on your ideas?
Re: Why Texas Masonry is not surviving in the 21st
I visit lodges in Maryland frequently. Maryland has a tradition of having exciting and informative programs at their stated meetings. They might have someone come in and talk about the Civil War, or how we got our flag, or how to select a...

Re: Why Texas Masonry is not surviving in the 21st
When people ask me, what do you do in yourlodge meetings? I usually answer, sleep! Most stated meetings are BORING, and why go to lodge and be bored, when you can stay home and watch the cable TV?
When meetings are exciting and give VALUE to...
Re: When did the "decline" start, and are we still
I have not found many men who would agree with my idea of involving masons in their lodge. I am flattered that you find the idea worthy. Have you been able to implement it?
I should think that if Texas Masons choose to have TO lodges in their state, then they should be hammering the Grand Lodge, to initiate the proper changes in the state constitution and by-laws, to facilitate the speedy chartering of such lodges.
"It does not take a majority to effect change...
Unhappily, This problem exists in far too many lodges. I have seen it in my own lodge. A small group of men have taken it on themselves to run the lodge. The membership of the lodge, does not matter to them.
I encourage you to push for change, and encourage your lodge to return to the...
I stumbled across some information about TO lodges, some years ago. I also found "European Concept" lodges. Some of the first TO lodges were in California, and Canada.
I am excited about the concept! I can foresee some (but not all) Grand Lodges, embracing the concept, and chartering more TO...
Big mega-lodges, like big mega-churches are a product of urbanization. I found out some years ago, that there are lodges in the USA, with a "cap" on how many members they may have. I was astounded to learn this.
Would you like to see your Grand Lodge, impose a "cap" on how many members a lodge...
