What Masonic traditions can we bring back?

Most Masons are totally opposed to trying anything new in their lodges. My lodge does not even have a web page. I am interested to know what sort of Masonic traditions we can revive. What practices and traditions can we bring back? In the past, small lodges were the norm. A lodge with a...

    Reasons for becoming a Freemason

I joined for a multiplicity of reasons. I joined primarily because men I respected and admired (including family members), were Masons. This choice was not offered in the poll. We masons often forget, that we are our own best advertisement. When we wear our ring, and advertise to the world, that...

Who and Where are they now?

I don't know about the politicos. I would love to see a "roster" of current politicos who are masons. Richard Dreyfus, the actor, was made a Mason on 10 June 2011, in Washington DC. He is a member of Potomac lodge#5, and Washington DC scottish rite bodies.

    Women Freemasons

This is an interesting thread. The fact is there are women Freemasons. There have been women Freemasons for many years. Their lodges are not recognized, so they are considered "clandestine and irregular", but they are Masons notwithstanding. See http://www.co-masonry.org

    Discovery Channel Programs

I have seen many of these shows, over the years. I must say, I like them. The information presented is usually presented fairly, and objectively. The shows present both Masons, and non-Masons, and people opposed to Freemasonry. They even present a woman "Mason" sometimes. I feel that the...

    Masonic Twitter

The Grand Lodge of Virginia has a twitter account, but they do not make any tweets. I will wager that in the future, many lodges and Grand Lodges and appendant bodies, will make use of twitter, to send short (140 character or less) messages.

    Masonic Passports

I bought a "passport" from an on-line (Canadian) vendor, some years ago. It is not a substitute for a dues card, but an nice reminder of lodges that I visit. When I visit a lodge, I get the secretary to sign the page, and show it around to the brothers, they all say "oo-aah", how terrific. I...

    Happy Veterans Day/THANK YOU ALL!

I served in the Air Force from 29 Aug 1973 through 3 May 1978. I enjoyed every minute of it, and I ask no thanks from my fellow citizens. There was no draft, and I served with pride. I have been working in Iraq/Afghanistan for 8 years, by choice. I am honored to serve alongside our fine...

    Ring question

The Latin translates: "What truth hath joined, death shall not separate" . Wear your ring with pride to yourself, and honor to the Fraternity. Remember, when anyone looks at you, they are seeing Freemasonry.
