    In Need of Advice...

You mention speaking to a Past Master, have you spoken to the Seated Master or the Wardens? This is an issue that cannot be ignored, a behavior that goes against everything Masonry stands for. I have seen it swept under the rug before and watched that action nearly destroy two Lodges and an...

We’re still shut down, no intention of changing it anytime soon. One building we use is still charging rent, the other is not. There are certain Silicon Valley tech companies that have informed their people they won’t be returning to the office before ‘21...

    Delivery of ritual

The differences I see between learning a song and learning ritual are the language and the frequency of repetition. It’s easy to memorize a song that uses the same era of your language as opposed to three-hundred year old colloquiums. It’s also easier to remember when you hear it as often as you...

    Veterans Administration Head Stones

If you’d really like to pursue this: If you are applying for a headstone or marker and the emblem you desire is not currently available, please see information below: Who Can Request a New Emblem of Belief? CFR 38.632 rule states that the following individuals may request a new emblem of...

    Veterans Administration Head Stones

If you click the link supplied you’ll note “#16; Atheist” is no longer there. The image that you are referring to, while used by the KT, is shown as the emblem of a specific sect and has nothing to do with that organization.

No, and there is actually a line in the text that forbids fraternal emblems. https://www.cem.va.gov/cem/hmm/emblems.asp

    Very Disturbed

Just because someone wears a square and compasses doesn’t mean they have anything to do with Masonry. Without the image or any other reference (MC name, region, etc) we cant even begin to speculate on the why or wherefore. I’ll assume you aren’t in favour of the Widow’s Sons as a Masonic activity?

    Newbie from England

Greetings from Manchester! Okay, actually Santa Cruz, California, but I’ve a lodge in Manchester, as well. Welcome to the forum!

What is your lodge’s WhatsApp group like?

No such animal for my lodges. 852 - the Master will text or email in singles or groups. XIX - same, plus an FB page. 9659 - a listserve, FB, and private website keep us informed. In your case I would have to ignore the app. What you’ve described are the reasons I generally avoid “social” media.

As a member of both UGLE and two US jurisdictions I would be in an interesting predicament if I were to visit Italy.

    The long way home

Welcome to a life-long journey, the serendipitous nature of your beginning is touching. While we’ll likely never sit in lodge together I’m glad you are finding the value and pleasure of the Craft. With Fraternal Regards.

    Veterans Administration Head Stones

The symbols on veteran markers are specifically Emblems of Belief. As Masonry so stringently claims to NOT be a religion it seems counterintuitive to lobby for such an addition to the list.

    Digital during lockdown

The first of the Grand Lodge of California’s speaker series was last night featuring Brother Patrick Craddock of The Craftsman’s Apron. He spoke on the evolution of the apron in the US since 1740. Quite interesting. I believe their were Brothers from nineteen countries viewing.

    Are you a Wazer?

I occasionally use it for a general route suggestion but then turn it off; it constantly avoids intersections with signals in favour of ones with “no traffic,” which inevitably means I have to try to left-turn across six lanes of traffic with no light. Too frustrating for words.
