The image that you are referring to, while used by the KT, is shown as the emblem of a specific sect and has nothing to do with that organization.
Just because someone wears a square and compasses doesn’t mean they have anything to do with Masonry. Without the image or any other reference (MC name, region, etc) we cant even begin to speculate on the why or wherefore.

The symbols on veteran markers are specifically Emblems of Belief. As Masonry so stringently claims to NOT be a religion it seems counterintuitive to lobby for such an addition to the list.
The first of the Grand Lodge of California’s speaker series was last night featuring Brother Patrick Craddock of The Craftsman’s Apron. He spoke on the evolution of the apron in the US since 1740. Quite interesting. I believe their were Brothers from nineteen countries viewing.
I occasionally use it for a general route suggestion but then turn it off; it constantly avoids intersections with signals in favour of ones with “no traffic,” which inevitably means I have to try to left-turn across six lanes of traffic with no light. Too frustrating for words.
