That is my feeling as well but, as I stated previously, we do thing differently here in PA and no one is given an Apron on Raising as it is truly impractial to think they would show up at a funeral. We provide the aprons for the Funerals our Lodge conducts and they are indeed new white lambskin...
I find this very interesting.
Here in PA for Blue Lodge, only Past Masters, Past District Deputy Grand Masters (who have served a full 6 years Term) and Past Grand Masters get a "Past" apron and jewel and Past Secretaries, Grand Secretarioes & Past Treasurers, Grand Treassures who have served...
I had my PM apron out this morning as I have a meeting tonight, so i figured I would snap some photos. I included a photo of the back, showing the pocked to keep a pair of gloves and since I had the case open anyway included a photo of my PM Jewel to show what that looks like in PA. Note that...
It seems to me that this is also the case in the Jurisdiction the OP operates under. The issue is the Brother who passed either not fully explaining the expectations or informing the family where their apron is located, the death being sudden and the family in such a mental state that they...
After my previous post I went and read your original post again.
The thing that REALLY got me was that you consider the faux aprons unsuitable for Degree work but OK for eternity with the remains of the departed Brother. You also said you were hoping to make 20 of the faux aprons, Assuming the...
Wow.
I can honestly say if we were to bury a Brother with a PVC apron to save the cost of a Lambskin, and word got out (and it would) Our WM and all PMs would be in a world of hurt from our DDGM and likely the Gand Lodge. If a lodge can't afford the cost of proper apron for departed Brethren...
In PA you are not given a plain white apron. We use while lambskin Aprons in the Degrees but after the Lodge is closed they go back in the East. We have a supply of white lambskin aprons in our "Funeral Kit" which we bring with us to the service. Most funeral homes in our area already have a...
I would absolutely give the Secretary of your Lodge a call and have him look up if your Grand Lodge is in Amity with the PHA Grand Lodge and the specific Lodge(s) you seek to visit.
I am in PA and our PM Aprons are, of course, totally different than anywhere else! Nevertheless I would suggest that the DDGM be asked this question, as it is most likely to vary from Jurisdiction to Jurisdiction.
I will also note that here the Lodge purchases PM Aprons and Jewels for our PMs...
Exactly!
We have it in our by-laws that any increase in Grand Lodge dues automatically causes an increase in our Lodge Dues without a vote. We recently did a renovation of our Kitchen which followed multiple sequential renovations. the expenses for that as well as a large increase in our...
First off I am not a Treasurer, but I am a PM,, a PHP, and a Trustee of my HRA Chapter. If dues are not sufficient to support expenses of the Lodge, dues are too low and the person most responsible for taking measures to correct the issues is the WM, not the Treasurer. In my Lodge we do not...
What a coincidence, I live in Gilbertsville!
There are two German Lodges I know of fairly locally (One in Philly and one I think in Reading.) they work in German, not PA Dutch.
The issue is that they use a German version of the Ancient Ritual that the rest of PA uses.
Of the last dozen or so new members in our Lodge, Two of them knew a Brother coming in. Those two got to know him because they saw his vehicle and asked about the S&C emblem on the back of his his car,
I saw this posted on a Freemasonry page on FB yesterday.
Great news in my opinion. Hopefully the last hold-outs will finally agree to recognize each other and allow visitation as well.
