America250PA and Grand Lodge of PA Liberty Tree Project

On Saturday I had the pleasure to attend a tree planting ceremony as part of the America250PA and Grand Lodge of PA Liberty Tree program. This was the first of 67 trees to be planted in each County in PA leading up to the 250th Anniversary of America's Independence. Originally started in...

    Entire Progressive Line quits!

Wow, it is hard to fathom that some group would be that intent on putting someone in the East, especially someone who is already a 5x PM. I can't say I blame any of the current Officers for resigning. I also can't fathom that the DDGM would let this go forward. In our Jurisdiction, the DDGM...

    Passed to Fellowcraft

Congratulations. We will do up to 3 degree conferrals in a single evening, for the first 2 Candidates we skip the majority of the recapitulation and lecture at the Altar after the Oath and Obligation, then they stand behind the last candidate while he is at the Alter to hear what was left out...

    NMJ Virtual Reunion

They did several last year as well. Additionally last Winter they did a series "Thursday Night at the Rite" where a different Degree was presented virtually on-line. I really enjoyed the series. You had to log in to the NMJ website with your Member credentials to access the Degrees.

    Installed as Junior Warden

Very interesting. I am always curious about the differences between the way things work in various jurisdictions. Here in PA if you were not signed off as proficient in the Business of the Lodge and EA Degree you could not take the JW Station for a Stated Meeting. You COULD for an extra...

    Scottish rite or York rite

I agree with BOTH Bro. Winter and Bro Cook! Take the time to experience your Blue Lodge, get to know the Brethren well, Serve on a committee or fill a chair for at least a year. Then The first thing I would pursue whatever path leads to the Holy Royal Arch Degree in your Jurisdiction. After...

    Slowly getting back to normal.

Yes, I repeated. We were in a position where we did not have a JW for 2020 and had to appoint a PM for that chair monthly. We had someone who knew the work who was interested in the Chair for 2021, so rather than leaving a hole in the Line I repeated and now we are set for next year.
