    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

Ick. Just Ick. I would like to see what you have to say about the Baptists. Just ick. Furthermore, I have no interest in what the Holy See has to say about me or any of my brothers. Icky.

    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

From the perspective of the Roman Church Eastern Orthodox and Anglican Christians in valid orders do not have validity. It would pain me to suggest the condemnation you suggest. I would go further and suggest it might be unmasonic.

    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

Apostolic Succession cannot be broken by ordaining women. Anglicanism is NOT Freemasonry. Freemasonry is NOT Anglicanism. That said, the third largest body of Christians in the world are Anglicans. They are not Southern Baptists, or Methodists, or Disciples of Christ but Anglicans, many of which...

Royal River DeMolay doing degree work and installation of officers tomorrow

So with ours, thanks for your moral support. I was not a DeMolay (though my father and uncle were) but I'm really enjoying being an advisor since I don't have kids of my own but have many Masons in my family. That's where we're going too. Four boys were initiated and got into line and others...

    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

Indeed, and Anglo-Catholics consider themselves to be in Apostolic Sucession and many of our Priests and Deacons and lay members also happen to be Freemasons, and I'll add that we also tend to worship the Blessed Mother, Our Lady, as well.

    Does Freemasonry accept Catholics?

I am both a Master Mason (and a Royal Arch Mason, and a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret) and also an Anglican. Within Anglicanism, I am also a member of lay associate of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament. Apostolic succession means something to Anglo-Catholics ("High Church"...

Royal River DeMolay doing degree work and installation of officers tomorrow

Thanks, the kids did well. The degree (for those who don't know, the second degree for the DeMolay is much like what one might find in Scottish Rite) was well done and the floorwork and installation (including those of us who are advisors) was also first rate.

Greetings from Mt. Ararat Lodge 44 in Bel Air MD.

Greetings and welcome and congratulations on your raising, Bro. Dent! With fraternal greetings, MaineMason/Bro. Harris Casco Loge # 36, Jr. Deacon Cumberland/Mt. Vernon Chapter RAM #1 Massachusetts Consistory, 32nd Degree, Valley of Boston

    Fundraising/charity/good deeds

Our lodge does a great deal of charity fundraising, including the local Clam Festival in Yarmouth, Maine. However, we also have monthly bean suppers which are a pillar of the community. Even the Roman Catholic Priest from across the way is a regular attendee. Well, our many times past master who...

Royal River DeMolay doing degree work and installation of officers tomorrow

It's been half a year since we petitioned for a DeMolay chapter at our lodge and many of us went up for Dad Advisor training and our chapter is growing: tomorrow afternoon we're doing the second degree and installing officers. For those of us who worked hard on this, it means a great deal to us...

    Honoring Senior Members

The Grand Lodge of Maine does indeed have things in place to give awards to long-time Masons. Some of them have been active, and others not so much. Because I'm a line officer in my Blue Lodge and active in Scottish Rite and Chapter and a Dad Advisor for DeMolay, the Masons I tend to come in...

    Masonic rings

My blue lodge ring is quite simple and rather small (I stand 5'8" and can't pull off any big ring). My father purchased it for me. It's older, probably from the 30's, simple 14 K gold with a garnet with the square and compasses set in in gold along with the letter "G". The sides have a level and...

So, what, really, is the difference between the SJ and the NMJ of Scottish Rite?

Sorry for the long response, but my last on Waite's "Encylopaedia": it is the very best and fairly concise (it spans about 8 pages) expository on the Leo Taxil hoax I have yet read and includes the most important (up to the time of publication, again, nearly 100 years ago) distillation of the...

So, what, really, is the difference between the SJ and the NMJ of Scottish Rite?

I It is also fair to say that Waite--who practiced Masonry both in Britain and in the US--appears to be generally critical of what he refers to as "High Grade Masonry" in general and especially to anything that smacks of Templars or "ridiculous claims and empty titles" regarding to knighthood...

So, what, really, is the difference between the SJ and the NMJ of Scottish Rite?

So the Lodge of Perfection degrees are much different? I'd be interested to see some of them worked in the Southern Jurisdiction. From what I know Rose Croix is quite similar in both Jurisdictions, though from what I have read Rose Croix was highly re-worked by Pike. A.E.Waite was very critical...

So, what, really, is the difference between the SJ and the NMJ of Scottish Rite?

Yes, the NMJ has its own Council, based in Lexington, Massachusetts.

    The Significance of Regularity

    I agree with you, Brother.

    The Significance of Regularity

Good to know, thank you for the clarification, Brother.

    33rd

Our former Blue Lodge Master has such a ring, exactly like that, with a small triangle with "33" on it.

So, what, really, is the difference between the SJ and the NMJ of Scottish Rite?

Obvious, Pike was involved (and a native Bostonian), and obvious that the Ancient Accepted Rite existed before Pike's revisions. What, however, is really the difference between the Northern and Southern Jurisdictions aside from the names of several of the appendent degrees?
