I was not a mason at the time, but adhered to virtue. I spoke the truth without circumscription...made enemies...got tired of it all and started my own software company. My Freemasonry HD

    Masonic etiquette

That's exactly what happened to me also. The hard lesson that I was forced to learn is that truth, virtue and morality need to be circumscribed and kept within due bounds when out there amongst the laymen. Very sad indeed. As masons we strive for virtue and the constant defense of truth and...

    Masonic etiquette

It is a fact of life brothers that truth, virtue and morality which we symbolize by the square, can get you in great trouble at times...out there in the profane world. They ravage and consume the virtuous. All they really are interested in is sensory stimulation. Your perfect ashlar must be...

What did you feel the night you were raised?

Humility is the first word that came to mind. I felt as if my ego remained buried in that rubble at MM. My Freemasonry HD

    Proficiency nerve calming

I do see the nobility in the timeless mouth to ear approach, but what I think is most important is for the words being forever engrained into your memory and their meaning forever impressed upon your heart. The means of accomplishing this wether it be through mouth to ear or proficiency ciphers...

    Proficiency nerve calming

In CA, each degree has a small and very thin cypher "booklet" containing only the proficiency work for that degree. Once raised, the candidate is invested with the MM cypher book... Which is the one you are referring to. It helps the candidate practice on his own especially if he is traveling...

    Proficiency nerve calming

Being nervous before The proficiency is completely normal and expected. It can however impede the quality of our work. Here is what a senior member of my lodge suggested to me which I found to help a lot. 1: The day of the proficiency, put the cypher book away and don't look at it nor even...
