Y.R. College Reception for New Lodge Worshipful Masters in and Around San Antonio

Nasty weather- nay, torrential downpour- aside, the reception went very well with a good turnout of Worshipful Masters and good representation of officers from the Grand Lodge, Chapter, Council, and Commandery. Hopefully next year the weather will cooperate! Pictured- The Governor, Texian...

I'm sure this has been asked a million times...

I can agree with rmcgehee on waiting a bit before jumping into the next leg of your journey. I'd suggest that you get your proficiency done first to the exclusion of everything else. Then get on some degree teams and participate in the degrees. One of the reasons for continuing the journey is...

I'm sure this has been asked a million times...

The York Rite Chapter and Council are not "Christian", however the Commandery- the final steps of the York Rite of Masonry- is a Christian order. You do not need to be of the Christian faith to take the Chapter and Council degrees and you do not need to continue to the Commandery Orders after...

    Finding a new Lodge

If you check your Inbox, you should find my response. Got to it early this morning before work. I'm very happy to be able to help out in any way I can. Also, I fumbled the Lonnie Irvin Lodge and yes, it- like all the others- is an excellent lodge.

    Between Friends

I haven't checked lately, but you might look at the Grand Lodge of Texas website. It was a Grand Master's program several years ago and there may still be material on the website. There was also a casset tape to give to friends as well in that program.

    Finding a new Lodge

thomasec, as an addendum (if those are allowed on posts), I hope my original post didn't come across too "strident", I was in a bit of a hurry and I wanted to get you information you can use. Between the secretary and WM at Helotes and the ones at whichever lodge you choose, there is a wealth...

    Finding a new Lodge

First, you need to contact the Secretary at Helotes Lodge and find out about your status and explain your situation. There is a process to finish your work after a long break. Since you've begun the work, you need to square things in order to move to a new lodge. Second, if you go up San...

Views on a Travelling Entered Apprentice

Thanks for that reminder. It's been a while and as I said in another post, my mind grows fuzzy. It makes sense to travel with a MM, and when I traveled I did. But I cannot for the life of me remember whether they ever told me it was required. It's good info though, thanks!
