There is actually a Mark Mason Grand Lodge and the way it was constituted was with a Mark Mason and then Mark Masters. I think it has changed somewhat over the years, but I know the Mark Masons Grand Lodge still exists in England as a seperate body.
I recently found a picture from the Mark...
I think you'll find the Royal Arch Mason Degree is the completion to the Master Mason Degree and I would go further based on my experiences and on my reading and studies- the Mark Master Degree "completes" the Fellowcraft degree (at an early stage in history in England, they were one degree)...
I took the Scottish Rite before I completed my York degrees. I was somewhat confused by the different esoteric style, but I thought the presentation I saw was excellent and the degree teams were superb. I liked the degrees, but I found the difference between the York and Scottish "styles"...
Helotes and Blue Bonnet York Rite Chapters held a York Rite Festival on Saturday, October 27th and we welcome five new Companions among us- two from Helotes and three from Blue Bonnet!
It was a long day, running from the start of the first degree at 8:00am and running until the end of the...
Your three Craft degrees will make more sense after your Chapter degrees. The Chapter & Council degrees finish "the story". But as others have said, do it when you're ready.
I recommend participating in the Blue Lodge degrees a few times and pay close attention to the lectures to "prepare" for...
The Companions of Helotes and Blue Bonnet York Rites will co-host a York Rite Festival on Saturday, October 27th, at 8:00AM. All York Rite Masons are welcome to join us to watch or participate in some of the degrees. Any candidates that would like to complete the degrees must bring verification...
After a several-month, forced reading sabbatical, a book review for your consideration:
Title: The Royal Arch Journey
Author: Rev'd Neville Barker Cryer
I've completed another book by Rev'd Cryer and I have to say that while not my favorite by him, it's still full of interesting information for...
It's been a while since I've had time to read a book and review it, so here goes:
Title: The Royal Arch Journey
Author: Rev'd Neville Barker Cryer
I've completed another book by Rev'd Cryer and I have to say that while not my favorite by him, it's still full of interesting information for the...
This link should take you to our Grand Council page where the flyer and the petition is: http://www.texasyorkrite.org/council/ - plus I downloaded them if you need them. They're posted right on the main Council page, can't miss 'em.
True. Good catch Bro Vick! Thanks!
Bro Vick reminded me that according to what we were told, the team conferring the degree intends to make part of it open for spouses to sit in. Should be quite interesting!
Yep, was there up until the installation of the Council Officers. Interesting two days to be sure. I had to be there as an outgoing DDGHP for the Chapter, but I wanted to be there because my replacement was chosen from my home Chapter as well. Next year I may do Grand Lodge instead of...
We found out at this year's Grand Council Assembly there will be one conferral of the "Super Excellent Master" degree in 2013.
It is currently scheduled to be conferred on Saturday, June 8th in Fort Worth, TX. The details and forms will be posted on the Grand Council website at...
I find it very difficult to do the sword movements with the mantle. It also interferes with a couple of other sections of the opening as well. They do look okay, but I find the mantle's functionality very dubious.

The Grand Convocation for the Most Excellent Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas was held on October 8th & 9th and the Annual Banquet was held on Sunday evening October 7th...
My goal is to one day buy and donate the four banners to my chapter. I finally saw pictures of them and thought they WILL look amazing in our chapter one day. Unfortunately, I then saw the price... sigh... one day though, they will be ours!
The San Antonio Companion Convoy is rolling out! Capitular District #23 will be well represented at Grand Chapter this year! It's going to be quite a gathering in Waco! I look forward to seeing and meeting many companions over the next 2.5 days!
