I had originally decided that I did not want to go through the line right off the bat. I have changed my mind and look forward to it. I really want to learn the rituals.
I'm not catholic, I attend a Free Methodist church and they do not approve of Masonry. However, when I decided to join I spoke to my pastor about it and told him that I was joining the Masons. He assured me that me joining the Craft would cause me no problems at church.
Last night I put in my petition for the York Rite. Per the advise of brothers in the lodge and here on the forum I was going to wait six months after my raising. However, next month the YR is offering a two day class to go through the entire rite at half of the price that it would cost taking it...
I agree. I'm not saying that the minute something happens to upset me that I'll leave. What I'm saying is if I have been unhappy at my lodge for some time and it seems that there is no change in sight I would leave and join another lodge and I do not see anything wrong in this.
