Did they explain to you that you will probably be voted on at their next stated meeting? I believe their next stated meeting is 2-15-2010 so you don't have too long to wait.
Good Luck
My opinion. Most people have committed crimes in their youth. Some worse than others. The Lodge should review the crimes committed and decide if they think the person has matured and changed his ways. I know I have had a few too many drinks in the past that, had I been stopped by police...
Your post is 100% accurate. My bad. What concerns me is that I have talked to many older Masons who told me " I couldn't get in the Lodge because I don't remember all the grips and words" I know we can get him to repeat the tilers oath and help him gain access or get him to answer some key...
I know what you mean about enjoying the exam. I recently visited a Lodge in Ohio and the question I was asked was: Who died first, Hiram Abif's mother or father? I thought that was a unique way to examine a Brother.
I'm sorry. I was not quoting Grand Lodge Law, only my opinion. I don't consider myself a Masonic lawyer. I just think we go to extremes sometimes. I can't think of a reason that I would require an examination of a Texas Brother who wanted to visit my Lodge, if he had a current dues card and...

In this case the EA should request a waver of jurisdiction from his original lodge. Then his new lodge can instruct him and examine him. Then he would submit a petition for advancement. If accepted, he would finish his work at the new lodge. Simple Huh?
Same as Brother Bill said except he...

As long as government has ACORN working for them the silent majority will be in trouble. Even if that article is false, it does make you think. The problem is, the silent majority of people who disagree with the direction our country is taking, will sit back and watch it go to hell.
She's eligible if she is interested. I would recommend that she visit with the ladies in a local OES chapter to see if she thinks she would like to socialize with them. It's all about fellowship. The ladies in our chapter likes to go to visit other chapters.
You don't say what your wife's religious beliefs are, but let me tell you that OES references women of the Holy Bible. The star points represent Adah, Ruth. Ester. Martha and Electa. The virtues of these women represent what we should try to emulate. I think a lesson can be learned from OES...
