Is anyone on the forum from Boston #69 in New Boston, TX? My Great-Grandfather was a member of that lodge. I'd like to visit it when I complete my MM degree.
At one time, I was told a lot of "info" by anti-mason's and didn't have any counter information to compare to. It took a lot of years for me to realize that original info was incorrect. In my case, it would have been far more helpful for me if more Mason's had been advocating for the group...
This is a topic of interest to me. I'm due for my EA on the 8th of February. I have lifelong friends/relatives that oppose Masonry strongly. I don't believe that I'm going to be able to ignore the issue.
I don't know the real answer. But I do know in my case, I offered drinks and they passed on them. The "investigation" was very informal and friendly. Personally, I just offered drinks and they declined. No big deal either way.

Like most folks, I've got a number of Masonic ancestors. I've got a recently discovered photo of one of mine with an interesting medal in the photo. I know he was a Mason because of his tombstone and his obituary. I've wondering if the medal is Masonic.
He was born in 1804 and died in 1888...
I'm excited. I've known some really neat Masons over the years and at almost 44 years old, I've going to try it. My father-in-law was a big influence on my decision to join. He was a Mason for most of his life. He passed away a number of years ago. My father-in-law was a very good guy and...
