I'm not familiar with that acronym. Return Of the Jedi? I don't much mind negative PR for Masonry for the same reason I don't much mind antis. Sane folks can tell obvious insanity.
I'm all for positive PR but I've seen the prices for advertizing. PR and advertizing are NOT the same thing...

I love the book series "Wierd (state)" and "Oddball (state)". Roughly monthly we do weekend excursions to a site in our state.

I've seen one of those History Channel...
The memory work is yet another way that we make good men better. Some believe they can't memorize and when we walk them through the process they break through an internally imposed limitation. Others know they can memorize and when we walk them through the process it's like weight lifting...
It doesn't help that the PM symbol is different from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and in some cases the PM in one looks way too much like the PGM symbol in another. It took me years after being "out-stalled" in Illinois before I would wear the Illinois PM symbol because it looks similar to the...

Thank you for noticing my word substitution typo. I have read the landmark phrased "on sight" and "at sight" so that part is not a typo. My use of the location word "site" was in error.
Which is why I did not reply in detail to your canard but rather identified it as such. In this case the flawed logic being on your part. You made an unjustified jump. We have all taken our obligations and we all depend on each other keeping them. We are brothers who know some unknown...
Many brothers become Masons for the deep traditions, so there is more to it than the letter of the law. How much more does depend on the individual. In this thread we've seen a spectrum of attitudes about wearing the S&C with both points above. In this thread we've some few objections to...
An oath is an oath is an oath so a Wiccan does not need a specific book. If the book matters then how sincere were you when you took it? I know non-Christian brothers who did not request their own book be on the altar because an oath is an oath is an oath and the book didn't bother them. It...
Pennsylvania has a ton of districts. Asking for one in each district is a lot. Historically the demand for daylight lodges peaks out well below that number. There are an average of how many lodges per district? Somewhere around 4 or 5? That would put daylight lodges near 20% of lodges. I'm...
It's not mandated because it should not be mandated. To call out a list of faiths by name is against our landmarks.
I find this strange because when I was in line in California a list of pre-approved VSLs plus a method to expand the list was proposed and passed vote. It technically breaks the...
Extremely important point - In the end it is the question on the petition and your answer to it in good conscience that counts. NOT the opinions of other brothers on the meaning of the question and their answer to it. That was their answer in their heart in their good conscience. You need...
Principles are always the same. Local traditions vary some lodge to lodge. Especially in a large city there might be clusters of brothers by profession or whatever in specific lodges. More likely they are checking local lodges to see if one has a friend who already knows you and can sponsor you.

I requires pop ups to be enabled so I had to select Norfolk, click to enable pop ups for that web site, select Norfolk again. I counted 10 lodges in the list.

No obvious lodge locator on their site.
Re: A Masonic "Bill of Rights". Is it needed? Is i
There are only a couple of changes that would make grand lines work within the rules I suspect.
Most of the recent abuses have been based on the notion that if a GM has the authority to "make a Mason on site" as a landmark he can have the...
Re: A Masonic "Bill of Rights". Is it needed? Is i
In every jurisdiction I know the members of the GL are the ones who write most legislation- JW, SW, MW, PM in the lodge.
In every jurisdiction I know brothers who report to the GM can write legislation and often do, but that's a minority of...
The first time I ever saw any EA or FC symbol on jewelry was around 10 years after I was raised. It's so rare I think that's why traditions and rules about jewelry are based on wearing the S&C.
Our local Prince Hall lodges are listed here. Seven lodges I think two building addresses. As often happens several lodges meet in one building.

Wen I moved to the area I discovered that the Masters Wardens Secretaries Association page for specific...
Re: A Masonic "Bill of Rights". Is it needed? Is i
Last year the GM of Florida went nuts issuing an edict of religious bigotry. Indiana at least voted to pull recognition if it was ratified. I had legislation documents circulating in both California and Illinois to put that on the agenda at...
If you're a man of his word, what does it matter which book you were obligated on? If you're NOT a man of his word, what does it matter which book you were obligated on? If changing the book brings up questions to you this matching pair of rhetorical questions should resolve the issue in your...
