I have a friend at work or did. He is catholic and after a year of talking on a daily basis he finally saw the ring on my finger. Now he barely says a word to me anymore. I still wear my ring everywhere proudly no matter what anyone thinks.

I guess I'm torn on this. I'm against a $15 mil. expansion but I do like the idea of having a grand lodge that looks grand to represent masonry in the state of Texas. It would be nice if it were in Houston because then I could see it. Of course the reality is that the masons themselves...

I belong to the Houston Valley as well. I wanted to visit the Galveston Valley at some point. I've never been there.

What is required when you visit another Scottish Rite body in Texas to verify you are a member? Like when we go to another blue lodge we are tested to verify we are master masons.

You are correct about that regarding paying double. I am going to pay back all the years I was gone just because the lodge deserves that money in my opinion. In addition to that I am buying an endowment.

So we can wear one of those fancier master mason aprons on those websites for funerals and things? All I had was the plain white lambskin that they gave me. I've been to one funeral with it.

Does anyone know how much a replacement lambskin apron costs? The one you get when you are raised. Mine got ruined in hurricane Ike. I'm guessing I will need to ask my secretary to order one but just didn't know the cost.

Good luck to you. It does take a while when you don't personally know a mason that can vouch for your character. But you will enjoy the dinners and getting to know everyone. They will be very welcoming to you and make you feel like part of the lodge even before you become a brother.

You could always go by and have dinner with them if they will have you even if you aren't allowed to sit in lodge. Taking steps for fellowship among brothers is a good first step. Freemason Connect Mobile
