For my more seasoned brothers----What would you say?

Re: For my more seasoned brothers----What would yo My brother, I am not certain which lodge you are a member of, but if you need and want counseling regarding Masonry or if you just want to sit and have a conversation regarding almost anything, please contact me : Gerald Harris at League...

    No left turns?

I wonder if he was speaking symbolicly? We use many left turns in our everyday lives in order to get where we need to be, but perhaps your friend was speaking about traveling from the East to the West by way of the South, which imitates the path of the great luminary of nature, which gives us...

    Age 18?

I am not certain that your statement is correct. Another brother has mentioned that it would be intresting for the Grand Lodge to conduct a study on this subject. I have seen several men under the age od 21 who have joined Texas lodges in the last two years, and I can not recall a single one...

How long have you been a Master Mason?

Congratulations on the date and the occasion. It is my great desire that you enjoy being a Master Mason, and that you are able to learn everything that it brings to mankind. If you do this, I have no doubt that you will be rewarded, but so will the craft.

    Conferring Degrees

That is a great concept my brother. If you continue with this practice, sooner or later, everyone in the lodge room should be capable of working every station including the lectures. I wonder how many lodges could lay claim to that one?

    Under who's juridiction?

Hello Brother Winslett, I believe the key to visitation, is that first of all, you have to establish whether the particular Grand Lodge is recognized by the Grand Lodge of Texas. Once that is established, then you are free to visit any lodge who is recognized, functioning, has visitation rights...

    Under who's juridiction?

I believe that the answer is yes, you could even sit in a PH Lodge, IF the Grand Lodge of Ma in fact recognizes and has visitation rights with the MWPHGLof MA. The key is that you are under another Grand Jourisdiction who has Masonic relations with the GLOT. I am anxious to her what one of our...

Will You have a Masonic Funeral?

I have conducted well over a couple of hundred Masonic Burial Services in the last 34 Years and I certainly hope to have a Masonic Memorial when it is my time to travel on to be with the Supreme Grand Master . My one fear is that there will not be anyone left who can perform the service for me...

    2010 Annual Communication Resolutions Disscussion

I like some of these ideas very much. Can you imagine what havoc this would create in our own Grand Lodge. I know that when the lodges were graded in their opening and closing ritual on 2008, many of them were not very receptive to the idea, even though I assure you most of them not only...

    2010 Annual Communication Resolutions Disscussion

Brother Macfie, I don't believe that you have heard it quite correctly. The normal mode of translating the wishes of the Grand Lodge Trustees is through the right hand of the Grand Master, who is your District Deputy, he makes a minimum of one, and usually two official visits to your lodge each...

Per Capita for Grand Lodge of Texas

Brother Dave, There is a State Wide Fund Raiser, or two to be exact.. First there is the Penney a Day program, This one only asks every Texas Mason to donate 1 cent per day for 10 years, or pay $36.50 one time. This will give a considerable boost to the operating capital at Grand Lodge. The...

    2010 Annual Communication Resolutions Disscussion

Brother Mark, You are quite observant for a Brother with limited experience. I don't believe it is totally a case of not wanting to grow, just a mindset against change, or a case of being located in an area that has seen its' best days. In time, either the lodges will eventually open their...

    JW Reading the Law

Guys, The new books have been available for a good while now. I received mine a month or more ago. I don't know that it is so much a question of printing each year as it is a question of getting the book ready to go to the printer.

    Compact Signing

What part is not true Brother Bentley? That is not what the Pricce Hall Grand Lodge asked for, or that if enough of us want it, it will become so? I for one was present , when the committe made their report at the Grand Lodge of Texas, and that is exactly what was reported to the membership of...

    Compact Signing

I think that visitation would be a much smoother transformation than merging. If PHGL does not even allow their members to belong to more than one lodge at a time and a merger is generally associated with one lodge giving up their identity, then a merger is pretty much out of the question.

    Compact Signing

Brother Miley, The reason that things are the way that they are, is because that is precisely what the PH Masons asked the Grand Lodge of Texas to do several years ago. They did not seek visitation rights . They simply asked for recognition. I believe that if enough of the members of the PHGL...
